I finished assembling the new Sanhema Road Bike. I think of it as a hybrid between a mountain bike and a road bike. The tires are 26 x 1.95. They would be suitable for light trail riding and general road riding too.

There's two ways to buy the bike. A vendor on Facebook's Marketplace offers them. It's a new business and he runs it out of his sprawling home just east of Orillia. You can it unassembled, or for a small fee you can get it assembled and take it home ready to ride.

The bike is an asian-made bike and shipped here. You can see the photo at the right. This particularly inexpensive model is packaged in a shipping bag with some decent packaging materials like bubble wrap and foam sheets. Despite this, mine ended up with a small rub mark where part of the black paint was rubbed off – fortunately it's in an area that isn't that visible and it's a minor little nit.

A fair amount of the bike is already assembled. The parts left to assemble take about 30 minutes to put together. You should be a bit familiar with a few minor adjustments, including brakes.

In a previous article, I included some of the more important measurements, and I'll repeat them here, plus add one more:

  • Bike is carbon steel and sturdy
  • Down tube is 24 inches
  • Top tube is 20 inches
  • Seat tube is 17 inches
A seat tube 17 to 18 inches is considered medium and is designed for cyclers that are 5' 6" to 5' 10" (158cm to 168cm)
  • Seat height is adjustable from 31" to 37 1/2"
meaning it can also be used by cyclers that are 5' 2" to 6' 2"
  • Handlebar height is not adjustable

And, here's the bike assembled

7-Speed Shifter, rear derailleur

The vendor is new to the cycling industry and has some excellent pricing. You can look him up on Facebook marketplace, just search for "Jeff Hancock". He's based just outside of Orillia ... maybe the lower prices have something to do with his location. A great guy and worth the drive.
PS. If you are logged in to Facebook, this link should get you to this exact bike.
