I was diagnosed with diabetes back in early 2011. Then came a diagnosis of Idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitis in September of the same year. That came about as a result of losing 112 lbs in roughly 4 1/2 months. I had been visiting the emergency department of our local hospital at least every two weeks, and as often as weekly. (Idiopathic means no known cause).
The only medical treatment for pancreatitis is pain management. Typically a narcotics cocktail. My last visit to the emergency department was on January 26 2012. From 4 am (after more than three sleepless days) through to 1 pm, the hospital offered absolutely no relief whatsoever. Despite the frequent visits, all for the same reason, they still have to confirm the diagnosis before offering pain relief medication. At 1 pm that day, they gave me a needle and several pills: my pain management cocktail – and released to go home. As my wife and I held hands leaving the hospital, I told her that was the last time. I would come up with a solution.
My research was promising. I first learned that any disease with "itis" as part of the name is based on inflammation. By my logic it seemed reasonable to assume that if I can find a way to reduce the inflammation, I also end up reducing the pain. A pivotal moment.
I discovered that the body has its own way to regulate inflammation. It's bicarbonate and produced by the pancreas. If the pancreas is compromised, as it is with pancreatitis, it can't function normally. I then discovered that sodium bicarbonate is a first line treatment in hospitals. For example, if you have a heart attack and find yourself in emergency, you will be given sodium bicarbonate as a treatment. Cancer treatments include sodium bicarbonate.
Fortunately for me (well, all of us) sodium bicarbonate is a common element. It's likely in your kitchen cupboard right now. It's commonly called "baking soda". You can get it at the grocery store, convenience stores, the dollar store. It's inexpensive and works really fast. Faster than narcotics. Just as effective (actually better) than narcotics. I take it at least three times a day, often four times. Each time, I take a 1/4 level teaspoon (never exceed 1 level teaspoon – too much is just as bad as too little). That 1/4 level teaspoon is mixed in an 8 oz glass of water. I've been doing this since January 2012.
I recently sought out a solution to my wife's sleeping issues. She struggles to get a good sleep. I focused on CBD since I had used it myself a few years ago. I purchased CBD softgels. Both of us tried it. I found some help with sleep, she found margin help but great relief with her hip pain. That was just before our one week vacation – and I continued research.
One of my Google searches showed a link to an article discussing CBD, CB1 Receptors, and CB2 Receptors. The answer to my search lies in the CB2 Receptors ... trigger those and you get pain relief, reduced inflammation, enhanced immunity, and enhanced sleep. Further research pointed to Hemp Seed Oil – particularly when enhanced with a blend of beta-caryophyllene. And that as a treatment leads to even more benefits. Cradle cap, acne, psoriasis, eczema, decrease insulin resistance, and appetite control. Each teaspoon or softgel also includes Omega-3 and Omega-6.
That's how I discovered Cannanda Hemp Seed Oil enhanced with b-caryophyllene on Amazon. I used my Amazon Prime membership to get free delivery on two bottles. But, I wanted to try it right away while on vacation. Fortunately a local health food store carried a "ginger" flavored version. I've been excited by the results ever since.
One of the pains that I was unable to do anything about was around the gall bladder. So, after nearly 13 years, I decided to go to the emergency department to deal with pain of the gall bladder. Result of tests: gall bladder is normal. But, the pain is still there. Went a second time, gall bladder is normal. But the pain is still there. I really don't know why the hospital didn't look closer to other organs in the area (liver, etc.). However, the Hemp Seed Oil worked (baking soda did not).
Out of this came a more complete pain management program. Baking soda 3 to 4 times a day, CB2 Hemp Seed Oil 2 times a day.
It's working, plus other pains are going away too.
Baking soda reduces inflammation, that's how it works to reduce or eliminate pain. That, however, only works on soft tissue. Doesn't work on muscular tissue, doesn't work on cartilage, doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. Cannanda CB2 Hemp Seed Oil works on far more inflammation issues than baking soda. For example, did you know that eczema is inflammation on the skin? It may be caused by a fungus, but it's still inflammation. My eczema is now under better control. Like my sleep improvement, the eczema is a gradually improving process.
Note: I ended up switching away from CBD in favor of Cannanda CB2 Hemp Seed Oil because I had previously had problems with CBD .. one of my CBD prescriptions was incorrectly filled with a significant amount of THC – a major risk for my commercial driver license. CB2 Hemp Seed Oil contains no THC at all and is third-party certified.
