It's been a poser ... how can you build a horizontal megamenu without one single class? without one single id?
First, here's the feature list (full width shown at right):
- Three sections in the navbar: Brand, Menu, Hot Links (like cart icon, etc)
- Menu can contain:
- Single links
- Multi-level links (tested up to five levels deep)
- Megamenu with full width sub section
- Fully responsive
Responsive menu at the left. This has been a challenge. I ended up "breaking" my development project at least five times and starting over again. The biggest challenge is having both a multi-level dropdown and a megamenu dropdown on the same navbar.
Quite frankly, finishing this and seeing the results is euphoric. Elating!
The megamenu css file is only 5Kb raw. I'm really debating if I need a simple horizontal menu, and a full featured megamenu. The file sizes are close. Simple menu, 3Kb. Full megamenu, 5Kb.
What I will do now is attempt to shrink the size of the full featured megamenu. If I can get it under 5Kb, it's worth having that as the sole horizontal menu system.
Thoughts?
EDIT> I've been able to clean up the megamenu css code ... got it down to 4.25Kb.
